Topographical map for the conservation of environmental resources

Topographical map is so called because topographical features are shown in such type of maps. Department of Survey, Nepal has prepared topographical map on the basis of aerial photography of 1996 and field visit in 2000. 675 sheets cover the entire area of the country. 

The map is prepared in two scales.

1:50,000 for 16 Mt. districts

1:25,000 for 20 Terai districts + 39 hill districts

Topographical map is an important device used for environmental resource mapping and interpretation in different ways such as use for environmental resource analysis, use to prepare land use maps, to use locational map, use for field visit, use to prepare different types of map concerning natural resources.
