There are over
6000 rivers and rivulets in Nepal. Rivers are sacred of Nepal. For Hindus, the
life originates from this point and is the center of the universe. The entire
south Asian cultures and civilizations grew around these rivers. Most of the
historical townships such as Indus, Benaras, Bagmati, Patna are located around
the rivers. Most of the rivers in Nepal originate from the foothills of these
magnificent monuments. Through these rivers and rivulet systems, Nepal
possesses vast hydropower potential.
