It is the process of buying and selling of agricultural products. It is the creation of demand of agricultural products findings out the existing and potential demand production of salable farm goods, etc. It is the activities of buying agricultural inputs and selling of agricultural products. It includes research a planning management of channel of distribution. Agricultural marketing is multidimensional activity.   

The word “agriculture” means anything which is produced by the farmers. They are more nature based activity. Agricultural outputs such as food grains, fruits, vegetables, animal and animal products, etc. It is also called as seasonal marketing. It covers wide range of geographical areas. It is difficult to create trust and goodwill among all consumers. It includes management and coordination of non-marketing members. The price of agricultural produces is determined by non-marketing agencies. It includes economic and non-economic activities. It brings customer satisfaction. For this sector, personal images are more important as products are not branded packaged, no labeling and no standardized. This agricultural sector advise people to be profit oriented. Profit orientation creates people, area and nation rich.

According to Richard Kohl, “Agricultural Marketing is the process of buying and selling agricultural commodities which includes harvesting, sorting, grading, processing, storing, etc.”
