Rural market is that place where the facilities of
buying and selling of goods and other services are available in the rural part
of the country. Market is not only the place where buyers and sellers must meet
each other to purchase and sell the goods. It is the mechanism by which buyers
and sellers meet directly, indirectly for the exchange of goods or services in
terms of economic value. Ultimatum, resource, market information, government
policy and middle man affect the exchange process of market concept of market.
Market is treated and understood from different perspectives. Rural market is
the backbone of agricultural country as it supports production and productivity
of the villagers.
Majority of rural people are involved in agriculture
and agriculture related goods. So, rural market is made of agricultural goods.
An example of rural market is haat bazaar. Rural market is operated at micro,
small or medium scale level. Unless, we develop rural markets,
commercialization of agriculture, diversification, multi farming system, etc.
have no meaning. Therefore, rural market is very important for overall
development of agriculture sector as well as national economy. It develops
along with other socio-cultural activities. It generates views, ideas and
innovations and exchange activities. The rural market are highly influenced by
weather and topography. From the development perspective, rural market are
still not well-established and well efficient. It motivates them to involve in
